need help w/ dfi install

i purchased a dfi system from a guy, it has the wire harness and everything. i was wondering if i need to move pins in my stock wiring harness to make the new computer work. any advise would be a great help

If it came with the harness, you would use that in place of the existing harness, (unless it plugs into the existing harness.) Or you can do what I did, repin the existing harness. The first thing I would do, is get the wiring diagram for your existing harness and the DFI. Compare the two and see what is different. If you have more ?'s, post or email me.

i does fit into the stock harness, so i just need to move some pins. you dont happen to know where i can get a stock wiring diagram. the one in my haines manual is only for a maf car. if i had that i would just read on the dfi plugs on what pin needs to be where right..?

No, someone else might be able to help with the schematic. The only one's I have are for MAF's (85 & 88).

Yes. You could just match the pins. My question is why do you have to change pins around if the harness is meant to plug into the factory harness? Unless it was meant for a different application.

i have to do what you did, just repin the stock one so that it will work with the dfi computer..

You could do either. If you want to change back for some reason, then the interface would work and be easy. If this is permanent, then re-pinning would be better. The only problem you have now, is getting the pin-out of the factory ECM.

do u know where i can get the pin locations for the stock ecm. the guy i bought the dfi from sent me the pin list from accel. (the same one at that website)
