Re: ECM 7730 mask code $88 help
Alright so if it in Random Access Memory (RAM) which usually does not contain memory after being turned off unless the RAM is hard coded from GM and cannot be accessed. It would have to receive its info from the EPROM and be stored only during operation.
Would i be able to access the L0186 in RAM and possibly change it? If so how please?

Part of the RAM is battery backed up, as long as battery power isn't removed that section of RAM is retained.
You can access/change any RAM location from within the ECM firmware.

How would I go about accessing the firmware?

Your short answers are killing me man haha. Can I get a more elaborate explication or a link that I can read on to access, find/locate and edit the firmware in my $88.bin file. I'm assuming it can all be accessed by creating either tables, scalars or flags within my .xdf file?

Re: ECM 7730 mask code $88 help
In the '7730 ECMs the EPROM holds the calibration data and the firmware. When the EPROM was read we called the resulting file a BIN file. Which is short for binary.
There is a commented dis-assembly of the $88 mask out there.
A couple of links that are good reads:
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/diy-...thod-demo.html
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/diy-...e-editing.html
The XDF file should only be used to access and modify the data, not the code portion of the firmware. Although it could be used to modify the code, it isn't a good way to do that.

Quoting myself to correct the actual wording, I think this comes under posting before the coffee kicks in.
It should read: "the EPROM holds the firmware which is the calibration data and the code."

S19 and As11 do not work in windows 10, I'll have to either use my old XP laptop or create a virtual machine with an x86 windows, I'm assuming you created them on windows XP 32bit so they should work best under XP correct?

They are likely DOS programs, I know that as11 is (which I didn't create). As for the s19 program, I'm not sure which one you are referring to.
As for S19_PAT, there is a DOS version and a Windows console version. The windows version has an underscore _ at the end of the file name: S19_PAT_

Re: ECM 7730 mask code $88 help
Nah, no reason to ditch 10, much better than Vista, 7, 8, 8.1 and possibly XP so far. Plus i have windows 10 in x86 and x64 so i can use it either way, I just keep and older XP laptop for the camaro tuning that i can use older apps for.
Also where is all of the locations for all of the Error codes so i can list them in my .xdf please. I noticed my Error codes 24 and 12 are both as $463 but have different bit number locations if that makes since.

Re: ECM 7730 mask code $88 help
Well darn it's beens a while haha. The camaro is still up and running. I just recently went with my 0 280 155 715 bosch injectors before and after contacting bosch motorsports. The injectors are spec'd at 26lb at 3bar (43.5psi). I have the currently at 27 because of fuel rail presure of 46 to 47psi. The response of the car was far greater than expected after going to these. I'm still cruising around town with BLMS of 123 to 127 and interstate speeds show the same readings. Everything was a very easy switch by just changing the the proper settings, injector flow, gph, bpc and bpw voltages with some 1 to 3 point addition to the idle VE table in low kpa areas. I will upload my latest .bin file, xdf and adx file for those who are interested. The adx file has had other history tables added into it for a wider viewing of different parameters vs what's needed and the .xdf has been goNE through and organised along with some helpful notes added to each section to tell what it changes.

Re: ECM 7730 mask code $88 help
One last thing, iv been searching for the $88 trouble code locations to add any and possibly all of the to the .xdf file. How I search all through the diy prom tuning section with no results for the last 8 months. Is there a special way if searching?

Re: ECM 7730 mask code $88 help
Tuned Performance, thank you for trying. What you gave is already listed in the xdf file i have. I got mine from moates a while back and have since added and refined it with notes, clues and organization point, not with fine tooth comb but well enough that almost any novice user can pick it up nicely and make nice judgement calls. Im looking to build a nice well rounded xdf file. The main things i see missing are the rest of the GM Trouble Codes aren't listed under the Flags options only a select few are. To me even if the other codes are not worth turning off or on its nice to have them listed anyways. Any and all help to finish off an old project someone else started and left behind for better things would be nice.
