Hi.
I got a whole set of used TPI setup including ECM and harness/sensors. The guy who sold it said it's from 86 Camaro IROC 305.
My ECM number is 16198259.
But looking at the PROM inside of ECM says,
AKXY
1608
3286
My research on google says AKXY is for 350 engines?
Is this ECM for 305 or 350?
And what does that 2 4 digit numbers mean?
I am going to put this TPI system on my 1974 Corvette's 350 motor. So I was going to re-program this PROM for 350 motor. But looks like I don't need to? Maybe the seller did not know what he was selling?
The intake manifold and others are not from a 5.7 corvette because fuel rails are bent towards driver side. So looks like these harwares are indeed from a Camaro. Did they make 5.7 Camaro during 86 and 89? Maybe I have a tpi setup from 5.7 Camaro?
Is there anyway if I have 35=05 setup or 350 setup by checking sensors or fuel injectors or any other parts?
The ECM from 86 to 89 are all the same, whether a 305 or 350. The TPI parts are all the same, whether 305 or 350. The injector flow rating was different for 305 versus 350 and in 89 the ninth injector was eliminated. The major difference is the Prom which had different broadcast codes for variances in engine displacement, transmission type and gear ratios besides having different numbers for improvements over the years. There are also different BCCs for Fed versus Cali. emissions. A lot of combinations! Your AKXY does seem to be from an 88 350 auto 3.27 gears and Fed emissions. HTH!

Thanks. Then how do I know if these fuel injectors on the system I bought are for 305 or 350? Is there any way to identify by looking at it?
The injectors, if stock Multecs, are probably not what you want to use anyway. Most say they are prone to failure and not worth the trouble. Read the many threads about Multec failures and the problems they have caused. Might be a good idea to get some different injectors, whether reconditioned or new, the Bosch III seems to be the favorite!
