More questions! Thanks in advance.

RBob posted this in another thread (see, I search!)

A VSS can he helpful as with a stick you can adjust the added PE SA versus which gear is in use. There is a table of PE SA values versus which gear and RPM. Can use more PE in lower gears then higher gears.
This makes sense. For my 89, cable driven T5/speedometer, is my best bet a Dakato Digital box? ...also....how does my current 165ecm handle PE SA/vs which gear you're in?? LOL...or does it NOT????

...and if the answer is no, then I imagine this is more a finer point of tuning, and maybe I can worry about it later, after all the initial tuning is done??

Thanks again
Chris

Re: EBL and VSS for T5 car
Stock stuff doesn't have the PE vs Gear table.

As for the VSS, there is already one in the car on the back of the dash cluster. It feeds the stock ECM a 2K PPM optical/digital signal. The EBL Flash ECM will use that same wire/signal.

That's awesome. I never knew that. ...just to clarify, my car is originally an automatic car, not a T5. But I imagine it still has the sense, yes?

...thanks again! I'm loading all the software on my laptop today, WUD, TunerPro etc., reading all the info, and actually getting a first look at a lot of this stuff. Motor is still (with the Holidays) probably a month or two off, but I'm excited!

Thanks!!!!
