ECM Harness Connector

Does anyone have a part number for this connector? I need to re-pin and want to order the correct size pins.

Thank you

Re: ECM Harness Connector

I don't believe it's made anymore , the wires are glued in that pass through connector.

Re: ECM Harness Connector

What tuned said, not a connector. The wires pass through and are sealed with some silicone goop.

Re: ECM Harness Connector

Just like Tuned Performance shows, not a connector, a passthrough grommet of sorts. All of the wires are glued in, but the glue, while sticky can be removed and you can reuse the comb and two halves can be resealed as well. That round spot in the black half nearest the white comb in his picture is like a fill port for the new glue or silicone to be pushed into the connector. That's how I did mine when I pulled that out and ran the Holley EFI harness through it. Just take your time, hardest part is splitting the halves apart, then it just takes lots of time and a pick to get the glue boogers off and clean it all up.

Great. Thanks guys. Now I want to go dig a junk harness out of my garage and try to get the "grommet" apart.... Just to see if I can.

Soaking the goo/connector in gasoline helps.

This is the only way to do it. Soak it for hours then remove the soft goop. Then soak again for hours, rinse and repeat. The longer it soaks the easier it is to get the goop out. The gasoline literally breaks it down to a soft gelatinous mass. But it does take some time.

Re: ECM Harness Connector

Mine was brittle enough that I broke the goo off in pebble sized sticky chunks. It reminded me of the old brown gum erasers I used in grade school, except sticky. For me that was way easier then dealing with a gelatinous glob of sticky. It also meant that those really hardened outer portions just flaked right off. It was less messy that way.

Re: ECM Harness Connector

I was able to get it apart with a hair dryer.. just heat it up, pry the parts apart, pull one wire at a time as you pull chunks of glue / goo off.
Even the comb was intact..
Can't you find this in both 82-92 and 93-02 Camaro's? Could have sworn I saw one in a 94 I parted...

Re: ECM Harness Connector

Thanks guys for the reply - was going to soak it in HOT water, but gasoline seems to be better - But does anyone know the Delphi Pin number for the connectors? Without that it's no use to try to get it connector appart.
There are 44 pins on each side of the connector.

It's a pass through connector no pins just a wire retainer inside.

Re: ECM Harness Connector

This is not a connector, there are no pins in this. The harness passes through this and is filled with glue to keep the water out. It is not a connector, it is a pass through.

Re: ECM Harness Connector

Thank you all - I get it - it's a pass thru. I will work on an alternate solution to "splice" the harness. Is there a ThirdGen club or a TunerPro club in the Pittsburgh PA area?
I need help with programming and tuning.

you might want to read the stickies in diy prom or data log and send to a tuner to make changes. Another option is Dynamic efi makes a self learn ve ecm.

Its the same size and shape as the stock piece where it fits into the bulkhead. It snaps in with a latch the same way.

I can wrap the harness bundle with tape at the point where it goes on, Getting just the right clamp force on the bundle when the 2 halves screw together. And I can take it apart later.
