950 Commander EFI
Hi,
I have a 68 Camaro with a 327. Car normally starts every single time right away. Pulled it out of storage, started it ran for a few minutes then stalled. Couldnt get it going without it stalling, then noticed that injectors were not pulsating fuel. Figured it was a rpm issue because fuel light was not coming on after key was turned. Holley said it could be a module on the distributor. Changed out the distributor to another I had, car fired up and ran great. Let it sit for a few days, tried starting it and I see fuel being pulsated in, but car wont start. I then keep my foot ion the floor which stops fuel and it back fires and bangs and puffs smoke out the injector holes. It almost seems like timing is off, but we have checked it numerous times and its bang on about 18 degrees. Would love so input if possible

If you have backfiring out the intake then this indicates an ignition event is taking place with an intake valve open. That would implicate valve timing, or valves stuck open, or extremely advanced timing, incorrect firing order, etc. Could the timing chain have slipped?
