Hello friends. I have a 92 Camaro Z28, 305 TPI Manual trans. Bought a 01227730 ECM with a (EBL P4) tuner installed. I thought this was the ECM all 90-92 TPI used, but when I pulled the one out of my car it says it is a 16198262. Also has a number inside the case R1600031775. When I search them numbers I get 0 hits. Anyone know if it is normal to have this ECM? Just curious what I have been running, and whether the ($D8) is still a good bin. to start with? Thanks guys

Reason: Forgot to add a question
The 16198262 service number is just a newer number for the 1227730 ECM. The stock '90 - '92 TPI ECM maskid is $8D, but you need to use a BIN that was supplied with the EBL P4 system. There are four for TPI cars.
Thank you for clarifying that . Now that I I have everything to actually connect to the ECM, everything I'v been reading is starting to make some sense. Its only in the 20's today so I didn't play long but tomorrow is suppose to be 45. I used the 3003.bin provided however I am a little confused as to whats the difference between the EBL_P4_V10.XDF & EBL_P4_V10_ADV.XDF? Is there an advantage/disadvantage to either? I have currently used the second one. Also when I push the gas pedal the TPS only goes to 90%. Is that normal or should I look into re-calibrating / replacing my TPS?
The _ADV (advanced) XDF is the full definition file. While the other is a cut down version.
Regarding the TPS%, check that the throttle body fully opens via the go-pedal. There could be a floor mat or excess carpet under the gas pedal. Or the throttle cable is stretched.
If the throttle body does fully open can change the TPS conversion gain to adjust the TPS%.
Rbob thank you for all the help so far. I tried my first flash today but seem to have an issue. Set to Bank 0, Program bank, and selected the EBL_P4_3003.bin.(from the WUD calibration folder) It reports back flash successful but my fan continues to run, I get no data in the WUD, and I get a Malfunction Code: Prom 51 (the first light flashes on and off and the 3rd is on steady. If I select another Flash Bank the fan shuts off and data comes back. The first Prom Malfunction light stops flashing but the 3rd still stays lit. Here is a video if it helps at all. https://photos.app.goo.gl/PiPQpMWTzWq9PWWw9 I Flashed back to the original Bank_0_old.bin and everything worked fine. The fans shut down and I had data right away in the WUD. Could the EBL_P4_3003.bin file be corrupted?
Sounds like the ECM firmware was updated and you are using the older files. If the engine will run on one of the already installed BINs, the main WUD display will show the EBL ECM firmware version at the bottom of the display (on a running engine).
If it shows V1.2 then un-install the current CD install and get and install the latest from our site. It is in the update section. Just double click on the .msi file to do the install. No need for the other two files.
Thank you, I deleted everything and downloaded the file from your site then did the update. It seems to have fixed the problem. The fan shuts down and the malfunction light is off and it idols okay. But still says V 1.2
When you first install a brand new P4 are all 7 banks empty untill someone loads a bin. Into them or does the P4 come preloaded with a bin. Already in each bank? A little confused on the point of Bin_0_old, bin_0_new, ect, ect.
Also I don't see anywhere that it tells what the malfunction code lights represent. I'm assuming from left to right (active, pending, stored)?
There is a base calibration in each of the 8 banks. Only difference between them is the PROM ID. V1.2 of the firmware is the latest for the P4 system. Since you mention that it 'still' says V1.2, then it had been updated and you were using an old BIN.
Malfunction lights: active, SES/CEL control, stored. The SES/CEL control is very much the same as pending.
