Hooked up Autoprom wrong - now No codes or SES flash
Hello,
I will try to keep this short as possible. More than a decade ago I used one of the first Autoprom units to datalog and burn a chip for my 89 Formula ( 90 Speed Density convo ). But, then I put the Autoprom away and didn't use it again. Fast forward to now, I was having a problem of the car starting and running great for 2 min then would die and be unable to start for 5 or 10 minutes. Thinking maybe the ICM in distributer was bad, repalced it. Did not change , So I decided to try some datalogging . First mistake I made was starting the car with a jumper on ALDL terminals after looking for codes. But my big mistake was next I hooked up the Autoprom WRONG. It had been a LONG time and sooo, I hooked up the dataloging cable to ALDL port and Autoprom but I ALSO hooked up the emulation cable to the ecm AND put the chip in the ZIF on the Autoprom. Started car to try and datalog, it wouldn't connect and car ran like hell.
NOW the problem, the car has no "SES light bounce" at start up and is in what I think is Limp Home Mode. Won't pull codes either. I tried 2 different ECM's and I burned a new Prom. Also tried to use Autprom (hooked up correctly ) to emulate . Same problem. Could I have "burned up " the piece ( memcal? ) between the Prom and ECM? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Turned out that hooking everything up wrong corrupted my bin file. reburned chip and ( after putting chip back in correctly - notch away from ZIF handle ) fixed THAT problem.
NOW, I need to post about the fact that car will start and run great - for two minutes. Then it dies and won't restart for 10 minutes or so.
