In-line Fuel Pump / ECM Fuse is Hot and Melts.

I have an 89 Camaro IROC TPI 5 speed which is having an issue with a the in-line fuse melting and getting hot. I’ve had to change the fuse several times over the last several years of owning it. I never got down to the bottom of it. But now I want to focus on it because it could be leading to some other problems I’m having. What amperage should I have running through that wire??

Could this mean the fuel pump is going out?? I don’t really think it could be much else besides a bad corroded fuse holder or bad fuel pump. Just wanna know where I can start. Thanks.

I checked it this morning at the in line fuse…I’m getting 0.15 to 0.19 amps

voltage from the fuse to ground on battery is 14v

is there a spot in the engine I can check for the fuel pump? Or do I have to crawl under the tank???

You should be higher amperage than that, are you testing at the pump relay ?

Okay so today I did more research. From what I gathered, it seems like the way to measure the fuel pump amperage is in fact the ecm/fuel pump in line fuse.. I’m getting less Than 1 amp yet my car is able to run.. I checked the amperage at every wire at the fuel pump relay while my car was running and still wasn’t getting 1 amp.
