AEM 30-0300 Wideband wiring

I have a AEM 30-0300 wideband I am installing in my 1987 Camaro with 165 ECM and ARAP 6E for data logging.

The instructions list:

0-5V Analog Output with:
White Wire = Analog Positive +
Brown Wire = Analog Negative -

Serial Output
Blue Wire = Serial Out

We figure it is the Brown Wire hooked to Pin D8 on the 165 ECM.

Just want to make sure so nothing gets ruined.

Re: AEM 30-0300 Wideband wiring

I wired in the sensor white analog positive 0-5+ wire to D8 on the 165 ECM but can't get a reading in Tunerpro.

It says the BROWN wire must be connected to the negative of the analog input of the logging device or ECU. If the logging device or ECU does not have a differential analog input (both a dedicated positive and negative terminal for the analog input) then connect the BROWN wire to the shared signal ground. If the device does not have a dedicated signal ground then as a last course of action, connect it to the power ground of the logging device.

That is the trouble I am having. Does the 165 ecm have a negative analog input? Or does the brown wire just hook up to chassis ground? What do they mean by Shared Signal Ground? Does the Brown hook up to a GROUND pin on the ECM??

Re: AEM 30-0300 Wideband wiring

Just as a follow up. I heard back from AEM. They suggested hooking the brown wire to a sensor negative ground.

I have the brown wire grounded and getting readings in tunerpro now.
