Chip identification - Is this factory or aftermarket

I recently purchased an '88 with a 350. When cleaning under the front passenger seat I found this box. In it is the chip pictured below. Is this the factory chip or the ADS aftermarket chip?

So what I bought is a low mile (10,150) all original car. Well, original except for this chip...lol.
Is there any risk to the motor, trans or fuel system by leaving this ADS performance chip in the car?
Does a person really see/feel a difference in performance with a chip like this?

Thank you for the info.
Only reference regarding gas octane in the instructions say "use the best available gasoline, with the highest octane rating in your area"
Any thoughts on if 87 octane will work ok with this ADS chip?
