Biggest cam that will work with stock TPI computer?

I was wondering what kind of Cam I can put into a 355 with flat hydraulic lifters without making the Computer crapping itself. I also want to keep it streetable. Was looking at the XE series of cams on the 114 LSA but wanted something slightly bigger than their 224/230 cam. Perhaps like a 226/234. Thanks

If you program the eprom, it can actually be made to work with a surprisingly large cam. Tim Siford (aka Traxion) is running a HR 236/244 112 LSA cam of .54x/.55x lift. with his SD 7730 ECM.

Tim did spend a great deal of time playing with idle and also increased the minimum idle speed to around 900 rpm but he has gotten his stock ECM to work.

And I've worked on a buddy's MAF 383 Miniram which used a cam one step smaller than you are thinking of using (222/230 112 LSA .53x/.54x lift (w/ 1.6 RRs). We have gotten the engine to idle very smooth (almost too smooth) that you can't even hear a lope. It idles almost as smooth as a "stocker" with a minimum idle speed set to 750 rpm.

If you get inside the eprom and take the time to play with it and learn, you'd be surprise how well you can make a fairly large cam run smoothly.
