Difference in performance between/auto to standard for a chip
Hey i switched over from a 700r4 to a t-5. I have a crappy hypertech chip for a 350. Is there a difference in chips between automatics and standards? Next, who makes a good chip that i can used for my slightly modded car and how expensive. Thank You

From what I've been told, the only differences are obvious......auto controls shift points and lock up. The only thing besides that is that the engine will idle a little rougher as the idle characteristics of manual and auto are different. As far as chips go...... get one custom burned for the best results. that's from my own as well as my friend's personal experiances.

There are also differences in the timing table. Given the same rear end ratio, the manual trany bin has a lot less timing. I did the 700r4 swap to the t-5. You will definitly need to get a prom for manual trannys if you want it to run without tons of spark knock and retarded timing. I am currently working on my timing tables and have found lots of power and throttle responce.
