knock sensor question on a 165 to 730 convertion
I and converting to a 730 and know the knock sensor is different for the 90-91 cars. I've read that the ohms are what makes up the difference? if this is so, can I just run a direct wire from the 165 version knock sensor and put a resistor inline to cut the ohms back?
According to Mike Davis' site (big help!), he used a resistor between 3.8K and 4.8K ohms to accomplish what you describe.

I discovered this site one day. http://www.cruzers.com/~ludis/p4xref.html
New Knock Sensors are only $20-$30 and a little bit of elbow grease. It might be the way to go, but I don't know.

Thanks guys. I got a 90 vette knock sensor and that fixed it.
No more code 43 or any code for that matter. But car runs like *&^%... It will even stall most of the time. I'm also getting a good amount of white smoke out the exhaust. What's that caused by? Any ideas of somethings to check, and/or do?
