I cant get my PP2 to program. Every time I try to load a bin onto the prom, it burns about halway, then stops and says "device can not be prgorammed" and "programing failure occured". Ive tried 10 different proms and no go on any of them. Does this osund like a hardware issue (the pp2) or am I just not getting something right. Im trying to burn onto 27C256-200 eproms.

 

You sure they're getting erased good? Also, what version of the PP software, DOS or Windows? For the DOS version, there can be some difficulties I know. May need to run it in full DOS boot mode.

 

I perform a balnk check before i try to program and the software says its blank. Im using the Winblows software 2.14 (the newest one).

 

I'm having the same exact problems I was able to burn 2 or 3 chips, now it's not working. I'm using the same chips except they are the 90ns ones.

 

Maybe its becuase were in california. Ive email Xtronics but no reply......

 

I'm going to try and call them on Mon. I finally got mine to burn 1 chip this out of about 7. It really sucks having to wait 20 min while my 3 spare chips erase every time it doesn't work. Just keep trying it it might work eventually.
