VSS Instrument pannel pulse divisor in P730?

I found this in the Tunner Cat's constants table. What does it do?

was wondering te samething myself for a friends car
has a t56 instead of t5 in it now, we used an electroni adapter to regain the ecm and correct vss signals

if i made the constant 40k(new style)
and the divisor 10(to equal old 4k a mile pulse)
would it work?
and has anyone attempted this
would seem to be a far more accurate measurement to change transmission vvs signal than other electronic measures?

Glenn, Trax? You guys know this ECM inside and out I'm sure you have some idea what this does. It seems it operates in the same way the cylinder constant works (ie an independant number represents the value). I'm wondering if I can use this to convert the ECM to read my 2000 ppm (pulse per mile) square wave vss instead of the 4000 ppm sine wave modle that the computer is supose to see. Thanks guys.
