Need some opinions

Ok here's the deal.I have a 91Z with a MR intake, all other mods are in sig.I'm having a rough time getting anywhere in the tuning of this.I have an overly rich condition for the most part.I've read before where people say that the MR is hard to tune,(although if tuned righ works well). And my other problem is that I changed every thing at one time so I know I'm trying to tune everything from scratch. Basicially I'm going nuts.So here where I want your opinions.Do you think if I took the MR off and put my stock intake back on I would have an easier time tuning?I think the stock intake would restrict my motor a bit bu I'm thing that doing it this way it would be one less thing to tackle. Then if I ever managed to get it running the way it should then put the MR back on and just tune for that.Any ideas or opinions would be great.Hope this makes sense

Chief, I'm going through the same thing since I recently swapped from a LTR setup to a LT1 intake on the car in my sig. The thing is, I've got a MAF system and I assume you have the "easier to tune" SD on your '91. I've decided that I must do the 730 swap to have a chance at getting this thing right. What problems are you having? I wouldn't swap back to the stock intake. What .bin are you starting with? What cam are you running? I've actually had decent results getting the BLM's close and "pump shot" stuff. My big problem is tuning in WOT. I actually had my LTR setup tuned in pretty good at WOT. Now, the things I changed to tune my other setup don't seem to make much difference. Also, I installed a custom stainless air intake with a K&N on the end at the same time as the LT1 intake swap. I'm thinking that I've changed so many things that the MAF can't read things correct now. According to my g-tech, I've lost 5 mph in the 1/4, although the times are about the same.

I'm starting with a 90 -350 manual bin from a Vette.I'm running a Comp X-treme energy 08-503-8 .503 intake .510 exh 112 Lobe seperation. My biggest problem is I'm running rich every where.I keep taking fuel out and the BLM's never seem to move.Second I can't open the accel quickly with out it popping through the intake..I've increased pumpshot by about 12-14%And it still pops. But From what I read and have been told that is probbally more of a timing issue. As far as timing table goes I haven't touch that at all yet I'm still trying to get the VE tables somewhere close.Right now they're mostly around 108-116 some get as close as 124 126 but very few.Itjust seems no matter what I do to the VE tables nothing changes. It starts up good, idles decent, runs great down the highway smooth as can be

On the pumpshot...I had to almost max the first two entries. I wound up with .8 in the multipliers to stop the popping. The max is 1.0. I've also discovered that I can add a huge amount of timing without knock. So much more than before, that I'm thinking I have something wrong I haven't found yet.
