Can I get away with the stock chip/ ZZ3 cam?

Please forgive me O' Gods of PROM, but I am curious as to whether or not I can stab in a ZZ3 cam with my factory SD PROM? If not, then what are my limits with the stock chip. I am in the process of building a LTR 383, but need a little more go-fast 'till it's done. I have a line on a ZZ3 for $65. HIT ME!

Lates,
JD

I've got a ZZ3 cam in my 350, 89 with MAF, and I get blm's from 123 to 135. Int's have a wider range. So it's not that much different from a stock cam.

Not sure about the SD system though.

I ran a ZZ4 cam (exact same as the ZZ3) in my 350 speed density TPI with no problems. It wasnt perfect of course but it idled fine and got good gas mileage.

JD

Nope, no codes. And with a stock ported TPI intake and my current setup it went a best of 13.24 @ 107.18 MPH, and made 280 HP and 380 TQ to the rear wheels.

I've got a line on a ported Edelbrock base adn AS&M runners. I think it'll work well with combo. I'm also trowing a set of SLP 1 3/4 headers in just for good measure. What did you have to do to your stock heads to accept the cam? And will the stock pushrods work?

Thanks in advance,
JD
