EEPROMS, and DOS PP
Has anyone been able to do EEPROMS with the DOS Pocket Programmer?.
I have 2 pocket programmers and in Windows do the EEPROMs just fine, but when using my antique laptop and using the DOS software, it keeps hanging up when programing (the EEPROS). Anyone got a cure?.

Bruce,
I had consistent difficulty. Tended to flake out in some way, tried DOS boot, Win98, programming all FF's first, different start/end addresses, bin-lump copying, you name it. Tried changing up the port characteristics all kindsa stuff.
Sometimes it would work fine, but by and large, the data which ended up on the chip was not what it should have been. Success was spotty at best. Worked fine with EPROMs, don't know what the difference is, maybe communications speed?
Since going to the Windows version, I've had no problems whatsoever. That's the path, although reluctantly, which I've chosen.
Speaking of paths, the Windows version is kinda nice since it saves your device type & file/path info. You have to delete a file to get it to work, but that's a nice feature.
Anyhow, I gave up. Maybe there's a fix, but I dunno...
