code 42

I'm at wits end. Had finished tuning, great blm's etc, running better than ever. Had to pull dist. to install new dist. gear.
ever since, problems. Got ses light intermittently on startup.
Didn't matter cold or warm. Turned off key and restarted, fine.
Nomore problem for several days, then SOS. Finallygot where
I couldn't get light to go off, so I cleaned all connectors to
ign. module, coil, replaced ign module, pickup coil was just done
a couple of months ago(replaced). Started fine, no light, drove
a mile or so down the road, and engine began running like I was
turning the ign. switch off then on etc. finally died, so I waited a few seconds and restarted no problem.

the only code showing is 42 EST

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Duh!! Betcha i got a cold solder joint either on the coil harness
from ign. switch or the 4-pin connector to the module. Both were
recently replaced and soldered on where the old ones were cut off. Letcha know tomorrow.

Any input still welcome.(and badly needed).

Thanks

Sounds like either the ignition control module or the pickup coil to me. Both of these will cause the symptoms that you are seeing.
