DIY info needed

Ive decided to look into burning my own proms. Ive looked at several sites with programmers such as the Pocket Programmer, and I would like to know what everyone thinks of each piece. Id like to make an educated purchase. Im also not sure which chips I need. They list so many, and Im completely green in this area, so any and all opinions, are welcomed, and needed.

Thank you
