ecm temps???

My girlfriend has ask me to put the ecm in the dash bc its hot to touch.Ouch, feel sorry for the passengers. That got me wondering what effects ecm temp. It's been 90f round here and direct sunlight on it w/ no a/c.The sun is hitting my ecm, I know that much.. Can injector duty cycles or running rich raise ecm temps?Would a overheated ecm effect drivability?

So long as it's not resting against it, I think you'll be OK.

Heat always subtracts from an electrical components life expectancy (ecm wise).

Tape an oven thermometer to it if your really worried, over 115ish, and I'd find a cooler spot. If on a 3rd Gen, that area of the floor board gets toasty anyway, the oem exhaust routes under it. And if you have a cat then it gets real warm there.
