Arap Wtf :)

I found the max timing in this arap bin i have to be set at 41.84°, which is reasonable, but then digging through the spark table I find numbers as high as 48.16°, I assume that the spark advance table is the advance from the base, which is 6°, so 41.84°+6°=47.8°

Why does the spark advance table have .36° more than the ecm will allow it to time?

Or am I completely missing something?

The code and calibrations in the early ecms are a series of patchs. The EPA, the Dyno, testdriving, all play parts in the final outcome. yes, some of the stuff seems loopy at times. However there is a max timing advance value that protects the engine from an oops anywhere in the system.

So even If i was to program in say 80° in a few spots in the timing table those 80° area's would be replaced with my max spark advance of whatever that may be? (35°)
