I'm seeing some things that dont jive. First off I have my max timing set to 35° and I regularly *log* with moates software timing in the 40° range. Is the max not working or is the scanning software not working?

And issue number 2 is I get knock retard, without an addition to my knock counts? Why is this and what could cause it?

What are you using for a bin??? if it has hiway mode enabled, you could be seeing the extra advance when it goes into hiway mode. Also, i too get alot of knock retard when i dont think i should be. If your going into hiway mode, you should see your a/f ratio rise.

 

Im using an ARAP which has no highway mode (disabled default). There's no tables I can think of that should be adding aditional timing, it just apears as though my "max timing" isn't working.

The phantom knock is extremely confusing though. No counts, but it retards small amounts (.3, .4, .7)

Not only that, but i've dumped an awefull lot of timing into my lower rpms and high load and have yet to see any knock, I've been increasing the entire spark table (not ARAP based) by 1-2° for a few days trying to find the limits, still haven't hit knock.

jeez, i am using a stock aujm bin, which has low timing upstairs, and I get alot of knock retard. If you get a chance, could you send me a copy of your bin?? Ive seen you talk about it b4, but never have recieved it. Thanks
