will the computer still retard timing in WOT?

first off sorry to bug everybody. I just started this chip thing and I"m getting almost everything just wondering if they comp will retard timing in full throttle? I know it reads directly off the chip in WOT but will it still retard timing? thanks.

Yes it will retard if you get knock, you have different knock retard limits under PE though.

The knock system is acoustic, as long as the engine makes the right noise, you'll have a functional knock sensor. The trouble is any noise of that frequency triggers the sensor.

And knock which is NOT of the right frequency will not trigger the knock sensor yet you will hear it (damaging your engine).
