question about power enrichment
question about power enrichment
Within the next 2 weeks or so I am going to try to put some of the stuff I have benn learning here to use and tune my TPI and get the hang of it before doing a cam/LT1 intake and numerous other swaps... my main question is though, when you talk about Power Enrichment, is that essentialy just the activation of the EGR, or is there lots more to it?? I ask because with the LT1 intake I will have no EGR, so do I just need to shut it off? Is that even possible? ...thanks...

The ecm goes to a commanded air fuel ratio for max power, and often there is a timing correction. While the O2 sensor is ignored, in some applications the learned correction for trying to maintain 14.7 MIGHT be applied to the commanded PE AFR.
GENERALLY, the EGR isn't used during PE. But, if your not going to use it, you need to disable the corrections in the ecm for when the ecm thinks that it is on, or should be on.
