Too many knocks during certain RPM. We cant fix it

My friend and I are having trouble burning a chip. We are running into 1 problem. I recently intalled tf heads and a 218/224 cam on an 89 TPI. We have the blms perfect , but from a stand still and taking off to 5000 we are getting 1-2 knocks. but while driving at 40 and nailing it the car downshifts to 3000 and I am getting 15 knocks. The car will scream and go nowhere until about 4500 then it'll catch up. o2 readings are int he 950 range during WOT. any suggs?

Just to clarify....you say 15 knocks-you mean 15 degrees of knock???? How much advance do you have programmed now? Any advance in the wot table added?
I also have the tf heads and have found that it doesn't want all that much timing! Also try to give it cooler intake air-that can make a big diff too.

15 degrees of knock with the stock chip. with custom chip its still at 15 with no spark advance. (something like that) this is with 10* timing. car has no power , but if i move my base upto 14* i get lots more power and still 15 ddegrees of knock.

chekc yr vavle lash. i don't know the details of yr setup but the new heads thing is a tip off. most likely if you don't have to much advance a mechanical noise could be triggering the knock sensor.
i would check yr vavle lash and cam end play. check the lash first don't be surprised if you have a few clatery rockers. good luck.
