TCC Lock up help.

Sorry i know this does not exactly belong on this board but there are many here w/experience in this dept.

I just installed new converter 3000 holeshot B&M Lock up,
My previous converter lockup worked just fine ,this one is not locking at all - i have spoken to the tech line and they suggest checking the lock up solenoid by putting 12v to it and listening for the click.
My question is can i put 12v to the TCC solenoid pin GF6 on the connector off the ecm to check it?

Thanks for any help.

The ecm supplies the GROUND for the TCC solenoid to apply..
