Going through the basics on the ARAP.bin, did I get one that someone modified?

I am at ropes end trying to get my car to idle mechanically so I decided to dive a bit deeper into the ARAP.bin In doing so, I set the idle to the cam manufacturer's specs of around 750 or so. I was then perusing some of the other array's and values. I came across the "Min. RPM for Highway Spark" Value and I noticed that it was set to 6350 RPM. I thought that the point of highway mode was to have it set at a reasonable HIGHWAY RPM so that it would be enabled. Am I correct in thinking that this was somthing someone tampered with and forgot that they did so then posted it on their site as a stock ARAP.bin? I also noticed that the Min Coolant temp for Highway Spark was set at about uh...180* F (85*C) Sometimes my car will run cooler than that on a cold night. Should I turn that down to ensure I could enter Highway spark mode?

BTW what is Highway Spark?? hehe. I hear about it but don't know what it does.

BTW I am working with a 165 ecm if you didn't already know with the WINBIN editor.

Highway spark is disabled in the stock ARAP bin, so you've got the right one.

Highway mode leans out the AFR and advances the timing when the TCC is engaged so you can get the gas mileage of a 4 cylinder ***** with a mean V8. Isn't TPI great?

BTW, I'm not sure about the ARAP but the AUJP has a min speed for highway mode which I think was set to 249mph. If you plan on using highway mode your going to have to change that to something reasonable.

any reason you would nto want highway spark mode?
would this effect my times going down the drag strip having it enabled?

Highway mode has some settings that disable it at high loads, and also some enable delays, etc.. The drag strip, of course, should be very high load, and thus highway mode is no problem.

Why you might not want it - if using it causes problems or worse economy, hehe. NOx was the reason OEMs couldn't use it in some applications. The cat doesn't convert NOx well when leaner than 14.7.

I haven't used it much, simply because I don't have to go on the highway much (and have been away from my car for 11 months).
