Too much cranking fuel??
Here is the story, the motor wouldn't crank when hot so I installed a high-torque starter. Now it cranks forever when hot, so I think it is spinning faster than stock so I increase Crank PW vs. Temp. Still no help, but the plugs are blacker than the prince of darkness. I don't think it is running rich because my BLMs are showing just a little bit lean.
So is it possible for the crank PW to cause fouled plugs? I know that bad plugs can cause hard starting, but can hard starting create fouled plugs?

Yes
What are you running for initial timing?.

Well as an update more fuel seems to be even worse so next time I'll have to take out more fuel, cross my fingers, and hope for the best.
Grumpy, the initial timing is set at 6* and the computer is commanding 20* to 22* from 400 to 1000 rpm. It starts fine when cold, and it does push start. So this leads me to the conclusion that I have to go the other way with the crank PW.

I have a very similiar problem with my 730 ecm equiped 87 camaro. I was at Grumpy's most recent powwow and we went for a ride with the wide band, when stopped and going to restart I let him see the cranking problem. I can get my car to start by holding the throttle open a little to get more air in which tells me that its probly a fuel problem, unless timing is changed when the throttle is cracked some? He said it sounded like the cranking pulse values were messed up. I haven't changed anything with them yet. I was reading through the Hac an hour ago and found the Crank PW vs. Coolant temp but its not defined on TC.
I am trying to understand the TC TDF Editor but its all greek to me and I don't want to guess at defining the fields.
