I was doing some reading and found this, http://www.xtronics.com/memory/EPROM.htm
I dont know much about proms but on this page it said
Software features - just down load the demo here. (it won't work with your programmer) If you want to upgrade to the windows version jump to updates (We don't support Win ME (and don't plan to (avoid it like the plague) ) If you want LINUX support email us and say so)
IM not sure if this is what you have but it might be worth checking out. good luck

Many people have found Windows ME doesn't work well with some of these "older type" devices. I know Xtronics PP seems to have problems in Windows ME. The only way people can seem to get the Pocket Programmer to work in ME is by going into "Safe Mode".

Also, Windows ME is doesn't have a true "Dos Mode" like Windows 98 and some Dos applications just won't work on Windows ME.

This is why I have not "upgraded" one of my computers from 98 to ME and I have one buddy that is going to "downgrade" his ME machine to 98SE.

This is probably not what you wanted to hear, but at least it lets you know that you are not alone.
