removing prom

removing prom

When I want to remove the prom from the zif do i need to disconnect the battery or can i just disconnect the ecm connector at the battery?

When you remove the prom you don't have to disconnect the battery. All you do is turn off the car take the old chip out and put the new one in.

And here I thought that in some way or another power had to be cut off from the brain box to do that.
