6E question

A few questions here.......Using 6e (tunercat) in the constant
table one of the constants request your initial (base) timing.
How is this information being used?please elaborate.(2)In the same constants area there is a (table?) that you can set max. timing, for example putting in 34 for max timing when there are higher numbers throughout the entire timing tables, would it stop at 34 or could it be for p/e used in conjunction to limit timing?
thnaks in advance

limting total advance will have a global effect. meaing it will affect the entire timing curve. even if the timing table commands in conjunction with pe a total advance number higher than the maxium allowable advance, it will only be as high as the maxium allowable advance in the constants table.

Your timing will actually be higher at part throttle so setting that as a max isnt a good way to limit timing in PE mode. As for the base timing setting, you should set your base timing on the car, set that value to where your base timing is, and leave both alone. From there you should change the values in the tables to get best performance. Only time I have changed the base timing is at the track a few degrees more or less and then I change the chip later based on that.
