burning problem (prom)

I just burnt my first PROM yesterday and it went off without a hitch. It must have been beginner's luck. My second and so-on the computer doesn't like, keep getting code 51.
This is how it went. I copied my ads chip and modified the ve table 1, saved it on disk then burnt it to a new prom. I took data off of it with winaldl on a trial run and modified it again, this time when I put the prom in, I would have a faint, flickering SES light and got code 51. I went back and trial burned several more proms with the same problem. Finally I put the original ads chip, that I had copied, into the PP2, read it off of the chip(moved to buffer) inserted a blank prom and programmed it from the buffer and it worked fine. This looked like a ray of light, so I erased the copies I had on the computer, reread and saved it from the ads chip, modified the ve table and burnt it to another prom. This didn't take either, giving me a faint, flickering SES light again. What am I doing wrong? I've searched posts and even read and reread the instructions. It has to be something simple but I don't know. Please help.

Sounds like you've got a loose connection or something. How's the EPROM hooked in there?

I don't know what software you are using to edit the parameters, but if it doesn't update the rom checksum that could be your problem. Tunercat should do it automatically if that is what you are using.
