do i NEED the erpom eraser?

do i need it or can i do without it?? i plan on buying the porm writter/programmer soon and a blank chip, what all do i *need* .....help please !!!:hail:

Depends on the chips you're using. If you're using regular EPROMs, then you'll need the eraser unless you plan on buying a new chip every time you program another iteration.

If you use flash PROMS (EEPROMs), then you don't need the eraser. You can erase them with the programmer itself.

If you leave an EPROM in the sun for a couple of weeks, that will erase it for ya.
