Maximum spark advance question
I am using Winbin and ARAP. There is a setting for maximum spark advance in winbin which is set at 41.84. When I am doing about 55mph the scanner is showing about 42-45deg of advance but is that value limiting it to 41.84?

The "maximum spark advance" is defined as the ECM advance beyond the initial distributor advance (usually 6* BTDC), and so if the initial in the ECM is set to say 6*, and the "maximum SA" is 41.84, then the maximum total SA during any run would be 47.84.
In many of my runs, this approach has proven th be true. So, I think that your situation is that your cruise SA is actually 42-45 total. This is less than the "maximum" 41.84 + 6*=47.84 (if your initial is 6*) that your setup could deliver. This is also less than the 6* +41.5=47.5 that I have experienced in my setup.
I hope this helps.
