15-pin winALDL cable ?

im trying to make my winALDL cable but all i have is a 15-pin COM port. The directions only explain using 9 and 25 pin connectors. So my question is, what pins do i use on the 15 pin connector, i cant seem to find anything online. THANKS

A 15 pin connector is for a game pad and stuff. I don't think that will work for this application. That is weird that you PC has no com ports. You may have to buy a card that will give you a printer port which is the 25 pin. Or take it to a local computer shop and they could install some com ports for you. What kind of computer is it Mhz wise and stuff?????? I actually made my interface cable last night. Haven't tried it yet, but it's done. Let me know.

I do have a 25 pin LPT port, but i thought i couldnt use that one, i thought it had to be a COM port and not a Printer port. Can I? The laptop is 600MHz.

That is what the 25 pin connector is. Go for it! Should work, that is if they say you can do it with the 25 pin. I made min eout of a 9 pin com port, so. but I think your able to do it that way... Just can't us a printer at the same time. H=mmm weird, a 600 Mhz lap top without a com port. Yeah just use the printer port, should work.

You might want to try out the USB to serial adaptor others have been using.

Do you have a 9 pin D port? That would work also.
