7730 in 93 f-body's?

Hi all,
Friend just bought a 94 LT1 off e-bay and if I remember correctly the 93'S use a 7730 ecm-is that right?
If so im going to have him use the 730 due to my experience
of the 730 . by the way its going in a 87 g-body.
Thanks for the help, also if indeed it does use the 730 would someone happen to know off hand the bin for an auto?

No the 93's do not use the 1227730. The 93's use the 16159278 ($DA3 mask) and the 94-95 use the 16181333 or 16188051 ($EE mask)

The 730 won't run an optispark.

Convert it over to the 8051.
It's a Flash type pcm, so there are no chips.
With a little practice a nice box to work with.
But it expects an electronic tranny so you gotta do that end of it.
You'd have to ask Tunercat if he can give you what you need to use it with a standard tranny.

The 8051 is definitely sweet, check it out if you haven't already. Has individual cylinder fuel trim, and if you DO run an auto, it gives you a bagoogle of params to play with for shift point, quality, etc. Easy to convert back & forth, skip-shift stuff is all on the PCM, easy to jigger. Nice piece, like Bruce said.

I'm torn on the onboard PROM stuff though, uploading is kinda slow, so if you want to test out a bunch of different programs, it takes some time. Wonder if something can be done in the PCM to allow multi-program capability? Hmmm...

toss the 200 get a 4l65e or a 4l60e to put in there. biggest mod is moving the crossmember and having the driveshaft shortened. hold on but wait didnt the late monte carlos have 700r4 ?? if so then the crossmember and shaft is a phone call away.

IIRC all Monte SS came with 200R4's. (which by all rights and ratios is a better tranny) Installing a 700-R4 will require modifying the crossmember and shorting the driveshaft 3 inches.

Well, while not on topic, a 700 is a pretty easy fit. Same length as a 350 (and I believe 200r) so no special driveshaft to be made and they sometimes have two pads for the trans mounts, so the only thing that needs to be done is drill a hole a little further back on the crossmember. Did this to a '84 G-body. BUT, the 200 is a better trans anyhow.

A turbo 350 and 200-r4 are the same length, however the mount is about 5 inches further back on a 200-r4. (about the same as a turbo 400). Both are roughly 27 3/4" in length. Same driveshaft.

A 700R-4 is 30 13/16" in length. Or about 3 inches longer. Any G-body swap will require a shortend driveshaft. The crossmember may require some mount mods as the 700r-4 mount is about 2 inches further back than a turbo 350. IIRC a G-body originally equiped with a 200-r4, the crossmember might work without mods.

A super T-10 is a direct swap for a turbo 350..

All 85-88 SS Montes got a 200-4R. 83 & 84 were TH350-C

The F-body trans. mount location on the case of a 700 or 4L60(-E) works w/ a 78-88 3spd auto G-body crossmember in the Monte; gotta slot the mounting hole back, and make sure the trans. mount clears the tube of the crossmember.

Or you can put a B-body tailhousing on the 700, and the mount on that tailhousing fits where the 200-4R mount goes.

Zero Monte Carlos came with 700-R4s from the factory. The driveshaft needs shortened 2.92" to use one.

And Will craigs adapter plug imto that ECM?
