code scanner question

i need a scanner real bad! its for a 92 350 tpi(doubt that matters) what is everybody using, how do they like it, how much was it, and where can i get it!

www.moates.net got the free aldl software works great. built the 2 transistor interface that works fine to.

is this what everybody is using?? i have a laptop so that would be no problem but i was looking for a handleld scanner. everybody else got any info for me??

auto X-Ray...about $200. The free software and diy cable ($5-$8) is definately the cheapest and easiest route, with the lap top you already have you can log all the data it gets for review/printing later.

neva mind i found the auto x-ray web site.
funstick... i checked out that website but can't find the free aldl software?

If you dont own a laptop or ALDL cable, then Auto X-ray would be cheaper, right? Will it tell me where the BLM's are at and all that good stuff, and does it come with a SD ALDL cable?

Nope, you can find a nice cheap laptop on e bay for $50 and build the cable needed for $8 and Craig's software is free.... $58 for laptop $200 for scanner. AND the lap top lets you see more data at a time and can log it for review later and graphing it in Excel.
