ARAP Code and a stock 350

I've just become the proud new owner of a 1987 IROC-Z, 350 TPI. I'm looking into having somebody burn me a chip with the ARAP code, as well as some lower fan ons, and higher TC lockups. I've also heard about Invoking Highway fuel, this helpful? Will this updated code provide a decent increase over the stock chip? Also, the Craig Moats adapter would work well to put the chip in with no difficult modification right? Thanks in advance... I know you guys probably don't like to hear from the not so smart people, but I'm sure you guys know more about this stuff than I ever will. Thanks.

This post will be locked/deleted soon!!! There is no prom begging on this board. However my advice is read Traxion's intro articles and buy the equipment and make those changes and more yourself!!!

No NO, Not begging. I already have a source... I guess I should have clarified that in my original post. I already know where to get some basic tuning done for me. I'm just wondering what kind of increase to expect over the stock chip with the ARAP code, as well as how well the Invoke Highway Fuel thingy works. Deffinalty not beggin, and deffinatly can't afford my own equipment to burn proms. I'd love to, I probalby will eventually, but this will get me started.

The ARAP spark tables are probably going to be too agressive for your engine. The highway mode will help fuel economy, IF you do a lot of highway driving (60+ mph for extended periods of time). Around town and 15 minute trips to and from work...not much help there.
Craig's adaptor works beautifully in an application like that and the only "mod" needed is that you won't be able to put the cover plate back on if you use the switcher he makes.

I won't need the zif thing, so I should be able to get the cover on. Spark advance might be too much huh? I might have it taken back just a little then. I do spend about 80 miles a day on the highway, so the Invoke Highway Mode might be good for me. Are the spark and fueling tables too much for a stock 350. I thought with fairly low stock compression the advance wouldn't cause too much knock. Always can test it out and see. She does have a Flowmaster 3" Catback, and will be seeing some newer airfilters, as well as upgraded ignition parts.

Tha ARAP code definately needs to be used with some high octane gas if you end up using it.

I guess I could take back a little timing... gas is getting rediculously expensive, preimium would be a stretch all summer. Maybe I'll just get it with the hot spark, and get a zif on the Moats adapter, so I can drop it in for a day at the track with a tank of preimium, then go back to the stock one for day to day driving.

Get his switcher, you can have 16 bin files on a chip and change them with a twist of the switch.

The ability to have multiple BIN files sounds like fun, that would be cool... economy mode, all out preformance, dutuned, etc etc. I might look into that. But I think ARAP code will do it for now, along with some headers. I'll probably have the timing on the ARAP backed down just a hair to be safe... but I'd like to keep it pretty agressive... some say its ok with premium, some say not... so I could be a little conservative, and take it back a tad, and just run that chip when I've got a tank of 93. Thanks for all the input guys... you all are so smart. I've tried to follow all this lingo... it gets easier once you learn what all these crazy words mean. Thanks. :hail:
