Using a V8 KS on a 4 cylinder
Using a V8 KS on a 4 cylinder
I'm about to do something adventurous with a 2 litre GM 4 cylinder that runs a 1227808, and it would be good if I had a Knock Sensor on the Memcal. The original 4 cylinder cars (mine is a '91) equipped with the '808's didn't have the KS filter on the Memcal. The V8's (and V6's it seems) did have the memcal with the KS attached. The engine will still be NA at this stage.
Is it possible to plug a V8 KS filter into my 4 cylinder Memcal (or use the V8 memcal?), attach the KS to the block and wire it back to the ECM, and use a V8 BIN with the cylinder selector set to "4" and the usual other remapping like injector constant, VE's, cylinder size, etc? Is there likely to be something else that stops this working?
