Programmer for WinXP and 29C256 ?
Programmer for WinXP and 29C256 ?
I'm going to be getting into burning my own chips and I'm going to buy a couple of the Atmel AT29C256 EEPROM chips and use TunerCat or WinBin.
I just need to find a good programmer to buy. I did a search and from what I could tell no one has found a Programmer that will work with Windows XP and program the 29C256. I hope I am wrong because all I have is WinXP.
What programmer can I buy to use with WinXP and to program the 29C256 ?
Thanks!!!
Alex

I searched some more and found this page for the Pocket Programmer:
http://www.xtronics.com/memory/EPROM.htm
It says it works with WinXP and is compatible with the 29C256 and doesn't even need an additional adapter.
It's says $149.99 for PP-2.
So is this all I will need to start doing DIY PROM's in addition to the EEPROM chips from Amtel and TunerCat ? Does anyone have a used one they want to sell? I couldn't find one in eBay and I'm strapped for cash...
Thanks!
