I know this has probably been asked a million million times........
Well, as the subject states, I know this has probably been asked a billion times, I've ran a search and didn't really turn up what I need, so here goes: I downloaded WinALDL software, I'm extremely new to this, and I need to know what else I need to make it work on my L98. I heard something about a bin... what is that and where can I get it? I'm not looking into prom burning just yet, but I am looking at the diagnostics... WinALDL is the software for this, am I correct? I feel like an idiot for asking but I know absolutely nothing about it. Any info appreciated. Thanks.

Whats funny is I've been prom burning for a while now. Couldn't rememebr a simple thing, and searched the boards, and that doc and still didn't find it. Tim's article is really good, and we're thankful that he wrote it. I wonder if he'd mind us adding some stuff to it though?
Anyway..
Winaldl is an ALDL diagnostics scanner.
Winaldl won't work on your 90 L98. You'll need Moates, or freescan.
You'll also need a cable, a 2 transistor, or a max 232 cable.

A bin is a binary image of the program your car runs. Its made up of a buch of defines, and functions much like any other program.
To edit it, you need a BIN EDITOR. To save it, you'll need an
eprom BURNER to save the bin image.
