data logging new GM ecm scanner

i started work on a whole new scanner. itll have a 3d aldl data based table to show what portion of the VE table your in as well as the blm and int for each grid point. itll also do all the other things the rest of the scanners do. just wanted to here some input. this is a whoel scratch idea. i was thinking of making it USB lpt and com. itll take more work but it seems to provide more options for the newer and older laptops as well as guys running the eprom emulators. freeing up that com is a wonderful thing.

please post feedback and sugestions here. i was thinking of doing every thing in VB but im not sure itll allow me to control the ports enough.

Well I love the way data master shows the current cell you are in on the VE table. If you could imitate or improve on that it would be awesome.

Datamaster already does that.

Cool, well first thing is to display the trouble codes, and reset them if possible. Then I would look at winaldls blm logging/display.That was the best tuning tool for my old ecm.the way it displays the avrages narrow or wide in that grid.Something like that would be nice.Olmost like ve master, from what I hear.Another thing is to have a dash display similar to free scan. But have guages for speed,horsepower,s/a,a/f ratio, rpm, maybe one more. The horsepower calculation can be made like craig moates software. For the a/f ratio you can do like craig or code for the w/b circut output. The w/b sensor readout/guage would be killer.I like craigs speed pass calcs, something like that would be cool.

My problem is that I know nothing about creating software.I'm just plauged with good ideas with no means to see them bear fruit. Is any of those ideas something usefull??
