Using Auto BIN in a Manual
Using Auto BIN in a Manual
RBob's response to my shift light question and some funny scan results I'm getting raised a further question: Is the code in an auto bin not as usable in a manual application-
eg although the auto BIN shows the shift light parameters on a chip editor, does its code use the pin for TCC so differently that even though you select a high lock speed for TCC in 3rd and 4th, you don't get the shift light function anyway?
eg I'm getting a torque converter overtemp flag.

Are you starting with a known good manual tranny bin file?. If your working with an auto bin and trying to make a manual one out of it there might be some gotchas. As I recall their was a fair amount of diffences between 8Ds.

I used a manual bin (AXXD) and copied the 5.7(AUJP) files over to it and then made my changes from there. That way I didn't have the auto parts in my way to deal with. Shift light works and all the auto stuff is not present. I needed to make a list of all the 5.7 tables I needed, then copy them over.
