some questions :)
I got sone tuning questions, here it goes:
I have a corvette 1991 MAP car that I have changed the cam, heads, exhaust etc. ANd im just about to have it tuned on a dyno.
Can I run the car with the stock chip to the dyno mech? How will she idle etc?
And how does the idle work? Do you have to program the idle or does the idle just "follow" the fuel/ignition, so when you get the fuel/air etc right the idle becomes ok? How does it work?
thanks
its a lt4 hot cam and lpe 113 heads

It will probably run with the stock eprom, but run like crap.
Do you the prom burning equipment and trying to get it to run right or are you just trying to "drag it in" to a dyno and have someone else do it?
If so, remember that the tuner at the dyno is ONLY going to tune your for WOT - nothing else. He might help get the idle to run half decently if you ask. But definitely no part throttle, because he can't do it - you need to drive around and gather data for adjusting the VE tables. There are now programs you can run that will help do this for you, but you still need to do so "real world driving". And, if you change your part throttle at a latter date, your WOT tuning will be affected.
But you need to provide more information of what you are doing yourself vs. what someone else is doing for you. But I would skip the dyno-tune until you get the part-throttle running good.
Go check a "sticky post" regarding tuning the 7730 for part-throttle. It's near the top of all posts.
As for idle, it is relatively simple to tune. You need to determine the rpm you want to idle at (what tranny btw), reset your IAC to correspond, and modify the injector constant and then the battery volt compensation to get it running if half-way reasonable. Then, if necessary, you tweak the lower VE tables around the rpm/MAP readings you are idleing at and possibly look at your spark table.

wow thanks for your answer
Well the guy how is going to tune my car is going to do WOT tuning on the dyno, and part throttel tuning on the road, first. ( at least he say so.. )
Could you tell what ECM I got? ( corvette TPI 1991 MAP ). And what kind of scaning software I need?
I wount doing annything myself cause I dont know how to
Is it possible to tune the car complete buy your self?
What to I need for that?
thanks

Dyno time is nice, but they won't be tuning your car sir. Sure, they'll assist you in tuning a 68 chevelle with a holley and a vac advance dist. But they won't be helping you with your 91 fuel injected car.
You'll wanna get:
1) Moates softare + cable
2) a pocket programmer + some flash proms
3) Moates adapter, for the money its not worth making
your own....
4) Winbin/gmecm/gmpecm/or tunercat + a copy of your bin.
Preliminary:
First set your idle stuff. Whats the cam manufacturers recommended idle? tinker around there.
Collecting data:
Then burn the bin and go for a drive. Have moates software record everything using the log function. 25 minutes of driving barely uses a meg, so don't worry.
Go through ALL rpms and throttle positions while driving!!!!!
Fuel Tuning:
Then when you get back to your home/shop, review the data. You can use moates VePHD, tpi_roc's spreadsheet (which uses Tim's formulas), or just use Tims stuff (traxion) directly. You'll wanna tune for blms at each load (kpa) and rpm point. 128 is the magic target. Anything lower is rich, higher is lean.
What your changing is your ve tables in the bin. I mentioned two
ways of doing, theres about 90 million more if you search the boards.
Later on...:
Once thats set, you're gonna wanna tinker with spark. Spark is a little more involved, and you might find after you've increased timing at a certain rpm vs load point, you need more or less fuel at that point..

And then as you really get to see what it's like as you get close you start settling only for better and better. Well, a few guys are that way.
it does take some work and getting picky helps. but first get it roughed in.
heres some advice.
get the BLM and INT close. work on your throttle response. startups etc. then go back to playing with the BLM and INT as you approach a good tune the blm and int will settle down. even with perfect ve tables if you AE is off the blm and int will jump.
dont get fustarted come and post here. most of us have been through it before.
have fun and remeber its a hobby.
