ANLU bin / 5-speed

Hey guys I'm going to be putting in a 350 soon with TBI and the '8746 ecm, I plan to start off with the ANLU prom, but my car is a 5-speed. I'm just trying to gather as much information as possible now before I start to burn the chips, can anyone tell me what needs to be changed to accomodate for the manual transmission?

In the automatics you can use the converter to help launch the car, and with the 3.06 first gear you can be aggressive with the timing and fuel.

With a manual tranny you have to be more conservative with the time and fuel below what would have been the stall speed of the converter.

The IAC is signifigantly different.

Might get a 747 bin in both man and auto and take a close look at the differences..

I agree with Bruce for the reasons Bruce stated.

There are no "MANUAL" BINs for B-bodies (ANLU is L05 B-body). The closest you got is a Manual from an F-body 5.0L.

The two most current bins for a F-body 5.0 Manual is AXKU (Cal) and AXKW (Fed).

As Bruce suggested, I would "compare" the two and determine what the differences are, and then combine the differences. TunerCat has a program called "Binary Compare" that is free for 30 days. It creates a "DAT" file containing all the differences.

My raw gut would be to use the Manual BIN (AXKW) and modify it to work for a 350, rather than the modify the ANLU 350 bin and modify it to work as a Manual.

Yeah I like that comparison suggestion, I didn't know the timing and fuel would be more agressive with the auto. I just figured I would be best off going with the ANLU since the engine I'm putting in is a stock L98 longblock with headers and performer manifold and the TBI with the 65# 9C1 injectors. This is basically the same engine as the 9C1 Caprices with a few bolt-ons, so I thought it would be best to go that route, I thought only torque converter lockup settings had to be changed.

As for the starting with the AXKW bin and modify that for the 350, I'm not experienced at all with the chip burning (haven't burned a chip yet) and I thought it would take a lot to modify that bin for the bigger injectors on a 350. I was always told the ANLU bin would be the best starting point. Can you guys set me straight on my thinking here?

im using the LO5 with a stock ANLU bin. and it runs great, but im goin to try and use my stock bin and copy the fuel and spark tables over, then adjust that chip.
