Back to the stone age (carburetor)

I lost an injector on my Holley throttle body. The darn engine doesn't run as well on three injectors, especially when it is intermittant. So, I put the carburetor back on and am going to re-think my fuel injection strategy. It is getting hard to get Holley injectors since Summit and Jegs don't sell them anymore. Here are the options I am considering:

1. Replace the Holley injectors and mounting on my throttle body with an equivalent system using the Bosch type injectors used in MPI sytem. I would need to find injectors with at least 60 lb/hr flow. I can keep my 1227747 with a home built injector driver.

2. Go with multiport. Find an aluminum intake manifold, weld in the bungs, build a fuel rail, etc., use my current throttle body minus the injectors. If I go this route, what ECM should I use?

Any thoughts?

John.

Are the current Holley injectors the ones with the black cap over them (hemispherical)? If so, you may want to get the newer Delphi injectors. The old ones with the caps are terrible. Holley stopped using them a couples of years ago.

If you go port then just use a '730 or underhood '727.

If you have a 747, I'll assume you have it mounted indoors, and suggest keeping it there.

727s can get rare at times.

Are the Delphi the ones that GM uses? I wonder how hard they would be to regrofit into mine. Yes, I have the ones with the hemispherical cap. Does Delphi make a drop-in? Time to do some more web searching I guess.

GM uses Rochester injectors in their TBI's and are a different size then the Delphi's.

The EFI section of chevytalk may be able to help with whether the Delphi's drop in the same pod as the old Holley injectors.
