7749 prom help

I am running a 7749 in my camaro and trying to burn a prom for it. I am having troubles with the 16K to 32K size issues. I tried starting the address at 4000 but the ses light just flickers and gives me a code 51. I am using tuner cat and the pocket programmer. I have used a stock $58 bin and changed the cylinder select and shut off the egr for a starting point. Tuner cat recalculates the checksum so I would think it should be ok.
So on the 32K prom you have to burn it to the second half correct? Thats what the 4000 starting address is about? I'm I completly off base here any help would be great.

Thanks Chris

Tunercat has an editor for using the 58 code on a 256 series prom.

If your using a EEPROM try first programming it with a .bin file of all FFs. That is basically the way to erase it.

What I do is take a 16K FF .bin and then add the 58 .bin to that.

The pocket programmer will allow me to fill with all FF's is that what you mean. First erase the prom then fill with FF then program it starting at 4000?
