BLMs start at 118 on startup?

Why during startup do my BLMs lock at 118 until closed loop is achieved? I borrowed a starter bin from a member and have been adapting from there. I have tunercat and moates and am wondering how to change this, why it would be 118, and pros and cons of this not being at 128. Thanks

Not unusual. The ECM holds the current BLM's at ignition off. At the next ignition on event the BLM's are checked against min/max init values and adjusted accordingly. This min/max init range is typically tighter then allowed during closed loop learn mode.

The above is general in the way 3rd gen ECMs operate, others may/may not operate in the same manner. Cals that have been modified may also operate differently, such as setting the ignition on min/max init values to 128.

Of course a battery disconnect will reset the BLM's to 128 at the next ignition on event.

RBob.
